Mission Statement
Our mission is to enable maximum independence with safety, comfort and convenience by adapting the environment to meet the specific needs of the individual. Adaptations can be home modifications for accessible design or adaptive equipment needed to accomplish daily tasks safely and independently.
What We Do
Interiors for Independence modifies home and work environments for the elderly and disabled, promoting increased independence and enhanced quality of life. Combining the skills of occupational therapy and the art of interior design, we evaluate and address the specific needs of the individual. Every disability presents differently and Interiors for Independence works closely with clients and their caregivers to ensure that all goals are met. Having the experience of an occupational therapist also helps to determine what equipment would work best for each individual. Emphasis is on planning the modifications around the abilities, interests and priorities of the client, while promoting a feeling of control and competency in daily tasks. Home modification can be proactive and help create an environment that increases safety, independence and comfort for everyone. Planning for accessibility can allow people to Age in Place. The products on our site are based on our years of experience and knowledge from lessons learned.
